About Bukhara State Medical Institute

Bukhara State Medical Institute was established in October 1990 and was officially named "Abu Ali ibn Sino" by the Presidium of the Bukhara Regional Council of People's Deputies in March 1991. Since then, the institute has made significant progress by establishing several faculties and departments, including the Faculty of Medicine in 1991, the Faculty of Dentistry in 1992, the Department of Highly Qualified Nurses in 1999, the Department of Medical Pedagogy in 2001, and the Department of Pediatrics in 2016.

 

In addition, the institute has recently introduced two new programs in medical prevention and medical biology, bringing the total number of programs offered to eight bachelor's degree areas, 23 master's degree specialties, and over 40 clinical residency programs, including 20 joint programs. Currently, more than 4,700 students and residents are enrolled in these programs, which are taught in Uzbek, Russian, English, and Turkish.
